Prices Increase for Domestic Sales in the September Shipments of 2009

On July 28th, 2009, China Steel Corporation (CSC) held the domestic pricing meeting for coming September of the third quarter of 2009 and announced the across-the-board price increase as shown in the following table. The average adjustment of CSC's domestic steel price per metric ton is about NT$1,710. The price markup is to follow the recent steel price rally worldwide and narrow the price gap between the domestic and global steel markets to a reasonable range.

In view of the presently bottom out local economy, CSC only moderately lifts the steel prices to strengthen customers' global competitiveness and help boost the current economic recovery.
